A sequentially shifted lightweight car with a motorcycle engine. Totally inspired by !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
I don’t know how often I would use it in reality, and if I had room and agreement from the wife for that, then I could just get a motorcycle, as this car isn’t much safer than a bike. So this “want” will pass shortly.
But if I could hook up climate control and have a top and windows, then it would win for me versus a motorcycle.
[Edit:] I f ound his amusing build article on MotoIQ:

I think it needs reverse too. Still cool tho.

Excellent point, would want reverse. Maybe use a Honda Goldwing engine/transmission ? They have reverse, don’t they? Probably wouldn’t be as much fun as a litre bike engine.

Brakes are good , tires fair.

I think a Goldwing engine would be a lot easier to live with if you ever wanted to take the car out on a trip. Probably more reliable too.
Those sport bike engines are so peaky it would get tiresome real quick on anything other than a twisty road or track day.
That nitrous in that car is just silly.

Ha, he even mentioned a Goldwing engine to get reverse at the end of his MotoIQ article that I just finished reading.
He also wrote, “O r buy an inline custom reverse box (bring money). A common low-cost solution is to use an engine starter motor and have it engage a sprocket that is attached to the drivetrain somewhere (usually on the diff.)“

People put motorcycle engines in Lotus 7 replicas all the time so I imagine they have a few options. Caterham even had a Honda Fireblade powered one you could order from the factory. I’ve wanted a Lotus 7 replica for years and I was thinking the 2008-current Yamaha VMax would be perfect. They have a v4 with 197 hp and 123 lb ft. They sound like an ls v8. The downside is that they are almost impossible to find as salvage.
